Investor Overview · July 2026
Clinically-reviewed AI skin screening, with a real licensed doctor one tap away.
The Problem
Dermatologists are concentrated in a small number of cities. For most people, a skin concern means a long wait, a costly consultation, or — far more often — no consultation at all.
Specialist dermatological care is concentrated in major metros, leaving smaller towns and rural areas with little direct access.
An in-person specialist visit means booking, travel, and waiting — a high bar to clear for what might be a minor, easily-treated condition.
Faced with that barrier, people default to internet search or self-diagnosis — with no clinical grounding and no path to a real doctor.
The Solution
DermaLens AI turns a phone camera into a first opinion, and turns that first opinion into a conversation with a licensed doctor when it matters.
01
Photograph the affected area — up to four angles for a clearer read.
02
The on-device-to-cloud AI pipeline screens the image in seconds.
03
A plain-language report explains what was found, and how confident the system is.
04
Uncertain or concerning results route straight to a licensed doctor, in-app.
The Technology
Most consumer skin-check tools are a single model returning a confident-sounding guess. DermaLens AI is a three-stage pipeline designed around the opposite instinct: validate the input, weigh two independent opinions, and hand off to a human when certainty runs out.
Stage 1
A CLIP-based vision model checks the photo is genuinely a skin image before any diagnosis runs — filtering out irrelevant or unusable uploads at the door.
openai/clip-vit-base-patch32Stage 2
Two independently trained classifiers score the image across ~35 dermatological conditions. Low-confidence results are returned as "uncertain," not forced into a guess.
EfficientNet-B0 + MobileNetV3-LargeStage 3
Flagged or uncertain cases are pushed straight to a licensed doctor's queue in real time — closing the loop from AI to clinician inside one product.
Live doctor hand-offInside the App
01
Guided camera flow, up to 4 photos of one spot.
Live02
AI ensemble runs; results in seconds.
Live03
Plain-language result, confidence, and next-step guidance.
Live04
Real-time in-app text consultation with a licensed doctor.
LiveDoctor consultation today is in-app text chat with image sharing, not a scheduled video call — an intentionally lightweight, async triage model that gets a patient talking to a real clinician with no booking friction.
Business Model
The product and doctor-consultation loop are live today, at no cost to the user. Monetization is the deliberate next phase — built on top of a working, in-use product rather than speculated in advance of one.
Market Opportunity
Skin conditions are among the most common reasons people seek medical advice, yet specialist access remains geographically concentrated across India — leaving most of the country reliant on general practitioners or no care at all.
Teleconsultation and digital-first healthcare have moved from novelty to mainstream expectation in India, mirroring the national push toward accessible digital health infrastructure.
DermaLens AI's models are trained and operated in-house, not resold from a foreign API — positioning it inside the country's push for sovereign, application-layer AI capability.
A free, low-friction screening product is a natural top of funnel for every paid layer on the roadmap — consultations, partnerships, and licensing all sit downstream of it.
Where We Are Today
DermaLens AI is at Early Traction — a small team, a working product, and no external funding to date. What we have isn't a projection; it's running.
Clinical Review
"Every condition category and every escalation path in DermaLens AI has been shaped with a practicing physician's eye on it — not bolted on after the fact."
